TAJ WELLINGTON Mews in Colaba Mumbai has recently appointed Meena Bhatnagar as the General Manager. Bhatnagar is recognised for her commitment to excellence, her passion for hospitality business and deep dedication to her work.
Working her way up the ranks from Floor Supervisor to her most recent position as Executive Housekeeper at the Taj Lands End, Bhatnagar brings with her three decades of experience in luxury hospitality. Over the years, she worked at properties in Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai, Bhubaneswar and Jaipur. Besides the IHCL, she was also associated with Oberoi Hotels & Resorts and the Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG).
At Taj, Bhatnagar has managed to implement strategies aimed at cost minimisation clubbed with productivity maximisation without compromising on the quality standards. Positive communication, recruiting, identifying and development of key personnel for structured growth are aspects of the business she has handled with ease.
Besides conducting training programmes herself, Bhatnagar has implemented and maintained regular training systems to ensure that associates have the necessary framework and skills to perform their job efficiently and effectively. As part of her employee growth programme, she has developed teams to take on Senior Housekeeping positions in other Taj Properties. Bhatnagar has achieved high scores in employee satisfaction tracking and has been instrumental in implementing opportunities for quality team building.
As General Manager at Taj Wellington Mews, Bhatnagar, with her years of experience in luxury hotel housekeeping aims at further raising the property’s service, proficiency and standards.
Having won the TABE awards for Housekeeping for three consecutive years from 2004 to 2006, Bhatnagar went on to win the Tata Award for Business Excellence in 2007 and also achieved the highest guest satisfaction scores in Taj Luxury hotels while at The Rambagh Palace in Jaipur in 2006 and 2007.
