Antara Cruises has announced the launch of its newly renovated MV Bengal Ganga, scheduled to set sail from Kolkata in October 2024. This upgraded vessel enhances Antara's esteemed fleet, which includes the MV Ganges Voyager and MV Ganga Vilas, among others.
Inspired by the charm of colonial Clyde steamships, the MV Bengal Ganga showcases 20 luxurious suites crafted from Burmese red teakwood, merging boutique aesthetics with modern comforts. The recent refurbishment features chic 1970s décor, expansive balconies, and large windows that flood the interior with light, creating a serene ambiance for guests.
Guests will enjoy a culinary journey at the Dining Room on the main deck, offering a mix of Indian vegetarian dishes and international cuisine, all while gazing out at the scenic riverbank. For relaxation, the upper deck Lounge Bar provides a cosy space for drinks, and the Sun Deck features an observation area ideal for yoga sessions.
The MV Bengal Ganga will embark on a captivating 19-night, 20-day journey from Kolkata to Varanasi, making stops at significant sites such as Kalna, Murshidabad, and Patna. Travellers can immerse themselves in local culture and traditions, culminating in a stay in Varanasi, where they can experience the spectacular Ganga Aarti and visit the Kashi Vishwanath Temple. Two cruise programs, starting 21 October 2024, will be available, offering unique insights into the spiritual and cultural richness of the Ganga.
