Akasa Air has started an initiative to introduce Braille in-flight safety manuals and menu cards across its network. These initiatives exemplify the airline’s dedication to making air travel accessible and enjoyable for all passengers.
Since its launch, Akasa Air has embedded accessibility into its core services. The provision of Braille materials highlights the airline's belief that flying should be equitable and inclusive for everyone.
The Braille safety manuals, available upon request in English and Hindi, provide detailed safety instructions. These include explanations of seatbelt operations, emergency exit locations, life jacket usage, and tactile diagrams to help passengers orient themselves to the aircraft layout.
Café Akasa’s Braille menu cards enable visually impaired passengers to independently explore meal options, snacks, and beverages available during the flight, enhancing their dining experience. The Braille materials were developed in collaboration with The Xavier’s Resource Centre for the Visually Challenged (XRCVC), a national-level support and advocacy organisation for people with disabilities.
