National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI) at its Annual General Meeting has announced Sagar Daryani, CEO & Co-Founder, Wow! Momo as the new President.
In addition, Pranav Rungta, continues his tenure from last year as Vice President and stepping in to take Daryani’s place and round off the leadership team is Zorawar Kalra. The National Managing Committee members along with all Chapter Heads & Co-Chapter Heads are still under discussion and will be announced soon.
Expressing his gratitude, he remarked, “I am honoured to be given this opportunity as President to lead the National Restaurant Association of India into its next chapter of growth. The NRAI today has over 5 lakh restaurants as its members and, as a team, we will strive to continue to expand the presence of the NRAI across the country by setting up several more chapters. Most importantly, I look forward to working alongside Pranav, Zorawar and the rest of the National Managing Committee which will be announced soon, at both the State / Central level to find resolutions to the issues like GST and Input Tax Credit, Association status and several other prominent industry-wide issues.”
Riyaaz Amlani, Past President and Trustee, NRAI and Trustee, NRAI, added “On behalf of the NRAI and our membership community, we would like to congratulate new President, Sagar Daryani, as well as Pranav and Zorawar, our new Vice Presidents. I have full confidence that the new leadership team is a group of accomplished leaders who will drive our association and industry forward. We also thank immediate past President Kabir Suri for his service and impactful efforts in a variety of strategic areas. Lastly, I want to thank our members for contributing their time and efforts to try and make doing business in our industry as seamless as possible.”
This leadership transition comes at a critical juncture for the Indian restaurant and food service industry, which stands on the brink of transformative change.
Under the stewardship of Daryani and Kabir Suri, NRAI has expanded its influence across the country, growing from 6 to 20 chapters nationwide. He has been a consistent and vocal advocate for the industry. His leadership has established him as a champion for fairness and integrity within the fraternity.
Also attending the 42nd AGM of NRAI was Chef Sanjeev Kapoor, Rahul Singh from The Beer Café, Anurag Katriar from Indigo, Dheeraj Gupta from Jumbo King, Riyaaz Amlani from Social, Aditya Ladsaria from Chai Break, Sharad Batra from Café Delhi Heights along with many other prominent restaurateurs.
