Cunha brings in two decades of culinary experience to Sofitel Mumbai BKC

With nearly two decades of experience in the culinary world, Sidney DCunha has been promoted from Director of Culinary to Director of Food & Beverage and Culinary at Sofitel Mumbai BKC.

Since 2022, when DCunha joined Sofitel Mumbai BKC, he has spearheaded a series of innovative initiatives that have significantly elevated the hotel's culinary offerings. He has curated unique food festivals, hosted a diverse range of guest chefs, and implemented continuous improvements across the hotel's esteemed restaurants and bars. These efforts have undoubtedly carved a distinct niche for Sofitel Mumbai BKC within Mumbai's vibrant restaurant scene.

As a key highlight, DCunha had played a key role in implementing Winnow, an AI-powered food waste management solution that empowers chefs to optimise their kitchens, minimize waste, and maximise profitability. Prior to joining Sofitel Mumbai BKC, DCunha served as the Culinary Director at The Conrad Hotel in Pune, where he previously held the position of Executive Chef. His accomplishments were recently recognised with a third-place ranking in the 2022 Power 25 Culinary list by Hoteliers Web.

DCunha, having worked with Michelin-starred establishments in New York under renowned chefs like Michel Roux Snr, Floyd Cardoz, and Hemant Oberoi in India. Throughout his career, DCunha has cultivated a diverse culinary experience, expertly catering to both Indian and international palates.
