RAMANDEEP MARWAH has joined as the new General Manager for JW Marriott Chandigarh. In this role, he will oversee the hotel operations, including guest and associate satisfaction, human resources, financial performance, sales and revenue generation, overall performance and strategy execution of the hotel.
An enterprising hotelier with over 19 years of experience, Ramandeep has worked with leading hospitality groups like Marriott; Taj Hotels, Resorts and Palaces; The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts and Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts to name a few. Prior to joining JW Marriott Chandigarh, Ramandeep was working as the General Manager of JW Marriott Mussoorie Walnut Grove Resort and Spa, Marriott India’s first JW Marriott resort in the country.
Ramandeep’s journey with Marriott started in 2012 with JW Marriott Aerocity, New Delhi following which he was associated with the JW Marriott brand across properties at Mumbai, Macau, Pune and Mussoorie. Now at JW Marriott Chandigarh, he will be tasked with continuing the hotel’s tradition of introducing pioneering concepts and maintaining its position of Chandigarh’s luxury address and the most preferred 5 star hospitality destination in the region.
Ramandeep joins JW Marriott Chandigarh at a time when the hotel is transforming the region’s hospitality landscape. The hotel recently launched the first microbrewery at a 5 star hotel in the region ahead of major metros like New Delhi & Mumbai. Ramandeep has shown a similar zeal and enterprising streak over the course of his two-decade long career in hospitality, remaining particularly fond of the Food & Beverage and Rooms Division where he is known to be an innovator.
In his previous stint as the GM at JW Marriott Mussoorie Walnut Grove Resort & Spa, Ramandeep transformed the dining experience at the restaurants in the property by seamlessly merging local Garhwali cuisine into the culinary spread. A highlight of this innovation was the involvement of locals to ensure that the delicacies retain authenticity and take forward the heritage and culture of the region. Representing JW Marriott’s commitment to the social welfare, he also started various programmes to promote Sustainable Tourism in Uttarakhand by working with the locals.
