Öz by Kebapci, a premier Turkish restaurant in India, has unwrapped a vegetarian menu that challenges the meat-centric perception of Turkish and Mediterranean cuisine. Designed to cater to vegetarians, the menu offers a variety of Turkish delicacies reimagined with plant-based ingredients, blending authenticity with modern tastes.
The new menu features standout dishes such as Pul Biber Dolma, bell peppers stuffed with spiced rice; Peynir Sarma Beyti, lavash bread layered with feta cheese and aromatic spices; and Garlic Labneh with Zucchini, combining creamy labneh and crispy zucchini. Other highlights include Kumpir, a loaded baked potato topped with olives, corn, and pickles, and Falafel Tahini, handcrafted chickpea fritters paired with tahini sauce.
Brimming with excitement as the years of exploration and culinary experimentation come to fruition, Öz by Kebapci’s Founders Aasim & Adeeb Shah expressed, “While Mediterranean and Turkish cuisines are often associated with meat-centric dishes, Öz’s new vegetarian menu intends to shatters this perception. With this additional vegetarian menu, we aim to seamlessly blend the vibrant flavours of the Ottoman Empire with modern veg-forward sensibilities. As vegetarian and plant-based lifestyles gain momentum, Oz’s new menu extends a further warm welcome to all vegetarians. This exciting launch offers a unique opportunity to delve into the lesser-known delights of Turkish and Mediterranean cuisine, showcasing the vibrant flavours and culinary heritage of the region through a vegetarian lens. From robust eggplant-based delicacies to creative twists on traditional staples, our vision is to redefine what it means to savour authentic Turkish flavours, making it an inclusive and enticing experience for diners of all dietary preferences.”
