CENTUARY MATTRESSES aims to double its revenue in three years and achieve the set target revenue of INR 1,800 cr by 2025. For the past 10 years, the company is growing at a CAGR of 18-19 percent, which is higher than the market average of 10-11 percent. In India, where the Comfort and Bedding industry is pegged at INR 7,500 cr, two-thirds of this is dominated by the unorganized players. Centuary Mattresses enjoys the 15 percent market share in the organised business.
“Currently around 10 percent of our overall production is supplied to the hospitality industry. We are planning to increase the growth rate of supplies to this sector by at least 10 percent each year. Our customers from this segment vary from Star Hotels to Tourism Departments of State Governments,” says Uttam Malani, Executive Director, Centuary Mattresses.
The company is supplying 83,000 spring mattresses to the Karnataka Residential Education Infrastructure Society (KREIS), a Government of Karnataka undertaking, which was the largest single-order for mattresses in the country. The company has also been at the forefront of product innovation like Green Gel to reduce the temperature of the mattress and Ulti-Matt technology. “Our in-house developed Ulti-Matt technology enables us to innovate new product variants from time-to-time,” Malani adds.
According to Malani, the in-house R&D and technological advancements have helped Centuary stay ahead of the competition. “Unlike others, Centuary has an edge over the competition for researching/developing/producing all components in-house. We have plans to double our manufacturing capacities every year and keep expanding to newer markets, in addition to manufacturing innovative products. A highly skilled and dedicated team of Centuary Mattresses also helps us to constantly strengthen our brand position,” he commented.
