The Westin Kolkata Rajarhat has appointed Abira Basu as its new Director of Human Resources. With over 16 years of expertise in human resource management across luxury hospitality and corporate sectors, Basu brings valuable experience and strategic vision to the property.
Basu has held leadership positions at renowned organisations including Oberoi Hotels & Resorts, Hilton, and Taj Hotels. She has led key initiatives in talent acquisition, employee engagement, and HR strategy, driving transformative policies that enhanced organisational efficiency and satisfaction. Her prior role as Senior Manager of Human Resources for a group of diverse companies further showcased her ability to implement innovative and impactful HR practices.
A graduate of the National Institute of Personnel Management, Kolkata, with an MBA in Human Resources Management, Basu also holds a degree in Political Science (Honours) from Loreto College, University of Kolkata, combining strong academic credentials with her professional expertise.
In her new role, she will oversee all HR operations, focussing on talent development, associate engagement, and providing a culture of innovation and excellence.
