Sofitel Mumbai BKC once again attains the Green Key Certification

Sofitel Mumbai BKC has achieved this through measures such as reducing utility consumption, enhancing guest and staff awareness campaigns, and upgrading eco-friendly facilities

Sofitel Mumbai BKC has successfully renewed its Green Key Certification, reaffirming its commitment to environmental sustainability. The luxury hotel, which became the first in India to receive this prestigious accolade in 2024, has passed its annual audit, extending the certificate's validity through December 2025.

Awarded by the National Jury Green Key India and the Centre for Environment Education (CEE), the Green Key Certification is a globally recognised standard for excellence in environmental responsibility and sustainable operations within the tourism industry. The renewal underscores Sofitel Mumbai BKC’s dedication to meeting the rigorous criteria established by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE).

Says General Manager Manish Dayya, “This certification has inspired us to adopt smarter resource management, minimize waste and integrate sustainable choices into every aspect of our operations. It’s more than an accolade, it’s our way of ensuring a greener future while delivering the exceptional service and elegance that Sofitel as a brand is known for. For our guests, it’s a promise of a stay that aligns with their values, while offering luxury with a lighter footprint. Together, we’re making every visit a step towards a more sustainable world.”

To retain certification, establishments must demonstrate continuous improvement in their environmental performance. Sofitel Mumbai BKC has achieved this through measures such as reducing utility consumption, enhancing guest and staff awareness campaigns, and upgrading eco-friendly facilities.

This milestone highlights the hotel’s proactive approach to sustainability and responsible business practices. The certification aligns with its ongoing efforts to integrate eco-conscious initiatives, ensuring a positive impact on both the environment and the hospitality sector.
