Antara Cruises has announced the introduction of new river cruises on the Ganga River aboard the MV Bengal Ganga, which has recently docked in Varanasi after relocating from Kolkata. The cruises will focus on the cultural and religious heritage of the region, offering travellers an opportunity to explore significant historical sites.
Cruises will operate upstream to Prayagraj, Chunar, and Mirzapur, as well as downstream to Patna, Kaithi, Ghazipur, and Ballia, depending on water conditions. The journeys will feature notable experiences such as the Ganga Aarti, excursions to Sarnath, and visits to Varanasi’s local bazaars.

The MV Bengal Ganga will offer a three Nights/four Days itinerary, beginning with a welcome aboard and lunch, followed by a range of activities designed to immerse guests in the local culture. The cruises emphasise sustainable tourism and aim to support local communities while providing an enriching experience.
Accommodations on the cruise include 20 suites, with prices ranging from Rs 12,000 to Rs 25,000. All meals served on board will be vegetarian, and the ship features an upper deck Saloon with scenic views and a variety of non-alcoholic beverages.
