The Marriott India Business Council celebrated the 10th anniversary of its initiative, “Road to Give,” which encourages associates to engage in physical activities to support charitable causes. Over the past decade, this program has mobilised around 9,000 to 10,000 associates from India, Nepal, Bhutan, and Sri Lanka, contributing through runs, walks, cycling events, and wellness challenges to raise funds for community needs.
This year, the initiative aims to raise approximately Rs 1.2 crore to benefit Rising Star Outreach of India, an NGO focused on vocational training for leprosy-affected individuals. The initiative has become a vital part of Marriott's commitment to social responsibility, successfully generating significant funds for various charities over the years.
Sanjay Gupta, Chairman of the Marriott India Business Council, emphasised the importance of collaboration and community engagement commenting, “Ten years of ‘Road to Give’ stands as a remarkable achievement, reflecting our associates’ unwavering commitment to service and community engagement. This initiative not only fostered teamwork and camaraderie among our associates but also strengthened our deep-rooted ties to the communities we serve. As we celebrated this milestone, we looked ahead with excitement and determination to continue our journey of making meaningful changes together.”
The celebration of this milestone encourages ongoing participation from associates and the wider community, fostering a culture of giving and support. Each effort is seen as instrumental in creating a more positive impact on society, merging health and fitness with social responsibility.
