For Fairmont Jaipur’s General Manager Rajat Sethi, the top priorities over the next year include enhancing guest satisfaction, expanding the hotel’s wellness and culinary offerings and furthering the sustainability initiatives. He aims to introduce new experiences that celebrate the local culture while meeting the evolving expectations of luxury travellers. Additionally, Sethi plans to invest in staff training and development to ensure the team remains at the forefront of hospitality excellence. And by focussing on these areas, he plans to solidify Fairmont Jaipur’s position as a leading luxury destination in the region.

It was six months back that Sethi took over the reins of the property though he comes with a rich experience of over to decades in the hospitality industry, across esteemed brands in the luxury segment. “I have had the privilege of working in diverse markets, which has enriched my understanding of the global hospitality landscape. My career has been driven by a passion for creating exceptional guest experiences and a commitment to fostering innovation in hospitality,” he says.

Enhancing luxury guest experience

Over the past six months, the GM has focussed on enriching the guest experience by blending Rajasthan’s vibrant cultural heritage with modern luxury. “We’ve introduced immersive experiences like evening rituals, featuring the lighting of the mashaal, traditional Rajasthani horns and rhythmic nagadas, creating a regal and unforgettable atmosphere. Additionally, we unveiled Zarin, our new fine dining Pan-Asian restaurant, which offers a captivating teppanyaki experience and the exclusive Imperial Elixir cocktail programme, inspired by the rich and diverse heritage of Asia,” he informs. Also enhanced at the hotel have been personalised services with bespoke dining and curated cultural activities, while refining staff training to uphold Fairmont’s renowned service excellence. The wellness offerings have been elevated by combining local traditions with contemporary practices, ensuring a comprehensive luxury experience.

Dining at the hotel is a feast for the senses, with offerings that showcase the rich flavours of Rajasthan and beyond. Special settings, like private dinners on the Imperial Terrace overlooking the Aravalli Hills, enhance this unique culinary experience,” shares Sethi.

Fairmont Jaipur also excels as a premier wedding destination. The GM informs that versatile venues, including the glittering Grand Ballroom, offer a fairy-tale setting for celebrations while the Mughal-inspired spaces create a magical backdrop for unforgettable events.  

For wellness enthusiasts, the hotel’s spa is a sanctuary of tranquility. “It offers treatments rooted in ancient traditions, including therapeutic massages and horoscope spa treatments, along with serene yoga sessions,” he shares, adding the hotel’s unique five senses arrival experience, Shaam-E-Khaas evening cultural activities and signature rituals add an extra layer of charm.

The luxury hospitality market is evolving rapidly with a shift toward personalised and immersive experiences. “Guests today are seeking more than just a place to stay; they want meaningful and authentic experiences. The property has enriched its wellness offerings by incorporating local traditions into the spa services. “From therapeutic treatments rooted in regional practices to serene yoga sessions, we aim to provide a holistic approach to relaxation,” explains Sethi.

Culinary experiences are also undergoing transformation at the hotel, with a focus on authenticity. The dining options are designed to reflect the rich flavours of Rajasthan while also offering global gourmet choices as they want the guests to savour both local and international cuisine in unique settings.

This adaptability helps us stay competitive and attractive in a dynamic market,” he says.

For room rates, the hotel employs dynamic pricing strategies that reflect demand patterns and guest preferences. “Our dining outlets are curated to offer unique experiences that draw both in-house guests and local patrons, creating an additional revenue stream. For events, especially weddings and corporate gatherings, we provide tailored packages that cater to diverse needs while ensuring high service standards. By closely monitoring performance metrics across these streams and adjusting our offerings accordingly, we can maximise profitability while delivering exceptional value to our guests,” he shares.

The sustainability initiatives include reducing single-use plastics and conserving water through advanced treatment systems. For the same, energy-efficient technologies have been implemented throughout the property to enhance the eco-friendly practices and then, there’s local sourcing of materials and food that not only supports regional economies but significantly reduces our carbon footprint.  

Preserving culinary heritage is also a priority, shares the GM. “We are dedicated to reviving traditional recipes, which helps keep our culinary practices both authentic and sustainable. Engagement with the local community through environmental and cultural initiatives further highlights our commitment.
