Embracing sustainability: Vision for a greener tomorrow

At the Sheraton Bengaluru Whitefield and Convention Centre, we're committed to a sustainable future that is both eco-conscious and guest-centric. Our sustainability vision is clear: to become a NET-ZERO GHG emission company by 2050. We recognise that this vision is not just a commitment but a moral responsibility to our planet and future generations.

To realise this vision, we've set science-based emissions reduction targets in line with 1.5°C emissions scenarios. We're determined to reach net-zero value chain GHG emissions by 2050. Our commitment extends to transparency as well; we meticulously track and report company-wide emissions and progress annually, holding ourselves accountable to our sustainability goals.

Our journey towards sustainability extends beyond reducing carbon emissions. We've implemented various initiatives to make a meaningful impact. In our guestrooms, we've embraced sustainability by sourcing and implementing cage-free eggs in or before Q3 2023. Moreover, we've incorporated plant-based foods, which comprise 30% of our menu, including a variety of delectable vegetarian options.

Food waste tracking on MESH, our responsible sourcing platform, ensures minimal waste and maximum efficiency. To power our operations with clean energy, we're sourcing renewable energy. We're conducting a comprehensive energy audit in 2023 to identify areas for improvement and increased efficiency.

Our commitment to sustainability doesn't end with energy; we're re-energising our linen and terry re-use program. In line with our Q4-2023 goals, we're installing electric vehicle chargers powered by renewable energy sources. Additionally, we're replacing single-use plastic water bottles with reusable alternatives in guestrooms. We're also proud to comply with the Responsible Seafood Programme, prioritising sustainability in our culinary offerings. Moreover, we're actively working on reducing water intensity throughout our property. Our holistic efforts are leading us towards attaining a hotel sustainable certification, a testament to our unwavering dedication to a greener, more sustainable tomorrow.

As the Director of Engineering at the Sheraton Bengaluru Whitefield and Convention Centre, I invite you to join us on this transformative journey towards a sustainable, environmentally responsible, and guest-friendly future. Together, we can make a substantial difference for our planet while providing the best possible experiences for our valued guests.
