Taj Public Service Welfare trust marks 16 years

Since its inception, the trust has provided critical support to survivors and families affected by natural and man-made disasters

The Taj Public Service Welfare Trust (TPSWT), established in the aftermath of the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, celebrates 16 years of dedicated humanitarian efforts. Since its inception, the trust has provided critical support to survivors and families affected by natural and man-made disasters, while also aiding injured and disabled members of the armed forces.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, TPSWT expanded its reach, offering vital assistance to migrant workers and healthcare professionals across India.

Reflecting on the Trust’s journey, Puneet Chhatwal, Managing Director & CEO of Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), said, “Since its inception 16 years ago, the Trust has worked on a range of relief and rehabilitation initiatives across the country. On this day, we reaffirm our dedication to serve.”

He added, “Drawing inspiration from the resilience of those affected and the valour of those who selflessly came to their aid, Taj Public Service Welfare Trust continues to support individuals and communities impacted by such disasters and empowers them to rebuild their lives with dignity.”

The Trust’s initiatives focus on providing monthly sustenance and pensions, skill development, micro-enterprise grants, and education support for children from affected families. Its primary aim is to uplift individuals from marginalized financial and educational backgrounds, enabling them to lead more dignified lives.
