‘Heal The World’: Crowne Plaza Today New Delhi Okhla lights up Recycled Christmas tree with pandemic warriors

Crowne Plaza Today New Delhi Okhla hosted a Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony on Wednesday on the theme ‘Heal The World’ to celebrate the spirit of hope, revival & happiness for the upcoming festive season. The special guest of honour of the ceremony were the Pandemic Warriors- Doctors & Nurses from various hospitals of the national capital who performed the ritual of traditional tree lighting.

The story behind the sparkling Christmas Tree is weaved around the recycled fabrics, reflecting the need of the hour - sustainability. The colourful strips depict the vibrance, the festivities, the cheerfulness & the get-togethers that people missed this year. The Christmas Tress is decked up with shimmering light and twinkling stars and has been set up keeping the core principle of eco friendliness in mind - Reduce , Reuse, Recycle. 

According to the General Manager, Ranjan Banerjee, “These colourful fabric pieces depict all the festivities, merry making, celebrations and get-togethers that we may have missed this year but will surely come back to our lives in 2021.It is the spirit of hope, revival, positivity and happiness that we wish to pass on to all our patrons and team members. We are extremely honoured that the pandemic warriors, the real Santas of the year graced the occasion with their presence. This was our endeavour to applaud these heroes for their contribution to the society.”

The biggest surprise of the entire event was the ‘Santa Claus’ who went through the hand sanitisation and temperature screening process to sensitise the guests about importance of safety. A special photo station has been created depicting the Santa’s house where the guests can click their photographs and enjoy a cup of ‘Kadha’, an Ayurvedic healing drink with Santa.

The event was also graced by the presence of in–house guests, corporate guests and team members who participated in a melodious carol singing session lead by a talented artist. The ceremony was concluded with a hi- tea session boasting of best of in-house signatures dishes & Christmas eats such as Dimsums, plum cakes, puffs, Sandwiches, Canapes and much more.
