Where are Indians headed this monsoon season?

Travel trends suggest 39 per cent of travellers prefer mountains while 31 per cent choose landmarks

Travelling in monsoon can be a captivating experience making Indian travellers pack their bags and head to destinations that come alive during the rainy season. This trend is reflected in Booking.com's Travel Trends for 2024 which shows 53 per cent of Indian travellers mentioned they are seeking destinations for their beautiful natural scenery, followed by 39 per cent who are keen on exploring the mountains and 31 per cent who expressed interest in visiting landmarks. 

The digital travel company shared its insights on destinations that are capturing the interest of Indians.  To make the most of the rainy season, leisure destinations such as Lonavala, Udaipur, Jaipur, Ooty and Mussoorie are among the most searched destinations this rainy season. Metros such as New Delhi, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Chennai, and Hyderabad are among the top five destinations besides leisure. Indians are also looking at international escapes during this season. Dubai, Singapore, and Colombo are the trending short-haul destinations whereas long-haul travel preferences lean towards destinations like London, Paris, and Amsterdam.
