The Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality has announced that the Tel Aviv Marathon 2025 will take place on February 28, 2025, marking Israel's largest sporting event. Registration is currently open for all runners, with early bird rates available until December 1, 2024.
The marathon emphasises sustainability through various initiatives, including:
Reducing Plastic Usage: Biodegradable cups will replace plastic bottles at water stations, aiming to cut bottle usage by over 60 per cent.
Using Recycled Materials: Race kits will come in bags made from recycled fabric, and participants can choose between a branded shirt or a registration discount to minimise textile waste.
Green Social Contribution: Runners are encouraged to donate sports clothing, which will be cleaned and distributed to charities.
Reducing Paper Usage: The marathon guide will be available digitally, and all event signage will be recycled afterwards.
Mayor Ron Huldai, Tel Aviv-Yafo, emphasised, “The 2025 Tel Aviv Marathon will return with full force this February. This marathon is an important event for our city, a city that breathes and lives sports. In these times, we need to remind ourselves that sport is not only for physical health but also as a remedy for the soul. Through sports, we allow ourselves to both feel pain and find comfort, and we remember that both body and spirit have enabled us to overcome many challenges before. This time too, we will succeed and rebuild, and we are proud to continue hosting this unique marathon that unites us all. I invite everyone to join us, and I hope we will soon see our hostages back with us, together.”
