BENGALURU MARRIOTT Hotel Whitefield announced the appointment of Sushma Khichar as Director of Operations. Sushma brings with her over twelve years of rich experience in the hospitality industry. Before joining Bengaluru Marriott Hotel Whitefield, she was part of JW Marriott Mussoorie Walnut Grove Resort and Spa as Director of Rooms, from June 2014 – November 2017.
She has demonstrated success at envisioning new concepts, future trends, streamlining operations and providing direction. She has hands on experience in developing procedures, service standards, operational policies coupled with expertise in preparing budgets & cost control measures. She also has strong expertise in Sales, Marketing, Business Operations, Front Office, Manpower Planning and Management across hospitality industry, making her an all-round industry star and earning her the designation of Director of Operations.
She began her career at The Oberoi, Mumbai as Front Office Assistant, where she was responsible for front desk operations including guest registration, room assignment, check-in, check-out, exchange of currency and cash handling. She then moved on to The ITC Grand Maratha and Sheraton Tower, Mumbai as a Guest Relations Executive. Over a period of 4 years at The Renaissance Mumbai Hotel & Convention Centre, she went on to assume multiple roles including Front Desk Manager, Executive Lounge Manager Assistant Guest Relations and Amenity Cell Manager and Assistant Front Office Manager. Her next stint was at Courtyard by Marriott, Mumbai where she was an Assistant Front Office Manager. She then moved up to the Front Office Manager at JW Marriott Chandigarh from January 2012 – June 2014.
Khichar is known for creating innovative operational procedures while focusing on development that will increase efficiency and productivity. She has been recognized for her ability to take control and surpass expectations in every department.
In her spare time, she prefers going for long drives and explore new places.
