Sunjae Sharma, Managing Director for India and Southwest Asia at Hyatt, has been appointed Chairperson of the ASSOCHAM National Council on Travel & Tourism for 2024. In this role, he will collaborate with ASSOCHAM to tackle key challenges in the travel and tourism sector and promote growth.
Sharma brings over 30 years of hospitality experience, having significantly influenced Hyatt's operations and strategy in the region for more than two decades. His past leadership positions include Vice President & Country Head for India and General Manager of Grand Hyatt Mumbai Hotel & Residences.

He will serve as Chairperson until the conclusion of President Sanjay Nayar’s term, focussing on advancing policies and strategies that align with the evolving needs of the travel and tourism sector.
