Over the years, the hospitality industry has evolved notably – from being personalised to being touchless. It has always moved with the times and changed itself accordingly without compromising on providing seamless guest experience that involves creating authentic, comfortable, inspiring and enjoyable experience.
Today, be it a millennial or a business traveller, everyone looks for a clean, healthy and sanitised stay at the hotel. And more often than not, a bathroom plays a vital role in offering the guests a sense of luxury and a clean feel.
One such provider is Saint-Gobain which has recently forayed into expanding its product range in the luxury space by providing end-to-end home solutions under one roof through the concept – MyHome. To further understand the concept, BW HOTELIER talks to Hemant Khurana, Executive Director (Homes & Hospitality Business) at Saint-Gobain who talks about the brand’s vision to cater to the hospitality segment and how will it benefit the industry.
Saint-Gobain’s MyHome website provides hassle-free experience for hotel designers and architects to design and create bathrooms from a wide range of customisable tools. “The website has various interactive tools like ‘build your own shower’ where they can choose from a wide range of glass, hardware, and layout options and customise their bathrooms,” shares Khurana, adding that the company is looking at engaging with designers and architects from the luxury hospitality segment to deliver innovative solutions and enhance the customer experience.
The pandemic has surely accentuated safety and hygiene factors exponentially in everyone’s mind and the hospitality industry had to reinvent itself to stay afloat. Today, the guests are concerned about hygiene, safety, social distancing and experience. “Keeping this in mind, we introduced a luxurious range of shower cubicles. A shower cubicle is an ideal solution for bathrooms as it is custom-made, hassle-free and sleek and redefines the complete showering solutions,” Khurana puts in.
The shower cubicle range comes with the USP of separate wet and dry areas of a bathroom ensuring hygiene, are easy to clean, and are thereby easy to maintain. They additionally accord to safety for children and older consumers (EXPLAIN). Saint-Gobain’s Heat Soak process filters out nickel contaminants significantly, thereby reducing the risk of spontaneous breakage and providing the safest glass for the shower cubicle. Apart from bathroom designing and shower cubicles, the brand has introduced a LED mirror range – SGG Aspira. It is a customisable solution that can be deployed for a bathroom of any size and shape. The company will soon be launching a windows range.
Expressing the need to indulge aggressively in the luxury hospitality segment, Khurana says, “It is an important and vast part of the market. With the revival of the segment, we look forward to increasing our focus and growing our presence in this area. We aim to meet the requirements by making premium and high-tech solutions that deliver comfort, convenience and hygiene.”
Like other businesses, Saint-Gobain too bore the brunt of the pandemic but as the main focus of the company has been the residential segment, it witnessed a quick rebound with homes becoming central to existence during the last 15 months plus. “The growth in the residential segment in the last two-three quarters has helped our business reach pre-pandemic levels. The second wave notwithstanding, we expect the business to continue on the growth trajectory,” Khurana concludes optimistically.
