Resorts World Cruises is set to make its debut in the Middle East as it announces the launch of Resorts World One in the Gulf, beginning November 1, 2024. The announcement was made at the cruise line's inaugural press conference in Dubai, supported by the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET). Resorts World One will homeport at DP World’s Mina Port Rashid, offering guests the chance to begin their three exciting weekly cruises, each showcasing different destinations.
The itineraries includes a two-night Sir Bani Yas Weekend Cruise (departing Fridays), a three-night Oman Cruise with stops in Khasab and Muscat (departing Sundays), and a two-night Doha Cruise (departing Wednesdays). For those seeking a longer getaway, passengers have the option to combine these trips into four, five, or seven-night experiences.
“These are exciting times for Resorts World Cruises, as we inch closer to the start of our first sailing from Dubai to the Gulf with the Resorts World One on 1 November. The response from the Gulf and from various markets in Asia, including from our travel partners have been very encouraging and we look forward to welcoming guests aboard soon”, said Michael Goh, President, Resorts World Cruises.
Upon its launch, the cruise ship will become the first in the region to receive the OIC/SMIIC Standard Halal-Friendly Cruise Ship certification. This will allow Muslim travellers to enjoy a completely Halal-friendly experience, with certified Halal cuisine and same-gender services for selected facilities. The cruise also caters to vegetarians and Jain guests, with special menus available. Public announcements will be made in both English and Arabic for guest convenience, and shisha will be offered onboard.
Saud Mohammed Saeed Hareb, Cruise Tourism & Yachting Lead, Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, said, “Inspired by our visionary leadership and with the continuous support of our partners, cruise tourism continues to play a pivotal role in the growth of Dubai’s tourism industry, aligning with the goals of the Dubai Economic Agenda, D33, to further consolidate Dubai’s position as a leading global city for business and leisure. This strategic partnership with Resorts World Cruises is a testament to our commitment to bring increasingly diverse cruise experiences to our city, underlining Dubai’s position as the cruise hub of the region.”
In line with its reputation as "The Cruise Line that Knows Asia Best," Resorts World Cruises is set to bring its signature brand of hospitality to the Gulf, blending international luxury with regional adaptations. The inaugural sailing on 1st November coincides with Diwali, the Festival of Lights. The ship will be seen in vibrant decorations, Diwali-themed entertainment, and a special “Gujarat food festival,” allowing guests to celebrate this major festival from the heart of the Gulf.
“The Omani Ministry of Heritage and Tourism with their key partners is playing a significant role in preparations to ensure a genuine experience and hospitality for Resorts World Cruises in Khasab and Sultan Qaboos Ports from November 2024 to April 2025. This endeavour holds immense significance for Oman in their respective plans to operate 11 ports in the future,” said Khalid Al Azri, Director of Tourism Trends Department, Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, Oman.
