THE DEN Bengaluru announced the appointment of Chef Irfan Ahmed as its pastry chef and Nishendra Kashyap as the Director of Food and Beverage. Chef Ahmed in his role will oversee the creations and concepts of the hotel’s patisserie boutique - The Deli and hotel’s confectionary offerings. He will be responsible to craft delectable gourmet desserts for the guests and will run the pastry department including the culinary execution of weddings, banquets, in-room dining and special events.
Irfan has been in the industry for over 12 years and is well-known as the ‘Master of Patisserie’ and baking. He is a great artisan when it comes to ‘sugar work’ and ‘chocolate artwork’ with skills in the making of pastries, desserts, bread and other baked goods crafting the gum paste and makes beautiful wedding and novelty cakes.
As the Director of Food and Beverages, Kashyap will provide strategic leadership and execution for the hotel’s food and beverage. He will work closely with the core team and chefs to manage the overall operations for The Creek, The Nest, The Coldpress, The Deli and Layla.
Kashyap comes with an experience of over 15 years in handling F&B operations with some of the most renowned properties in India. Prior to joining The Den, he worked at The Middle East with The Ramee Grand and Hotels and Spa in Bahrain. He has also worked with international hotel chains such as The Westin – Starwood Hotels and Resorts; Taj Residency; Taj Malabar; Le Meridien. He started his journey with TGI Friday’s and his last stint was at Movenpick Hotel and Spa Bengaluru.
