MakeMyTrip, has taken a significant step towards enhancing its global user experience. The company, now compliant with GDPR, allows access to its platform from over 150 countries. Strengthening its international appeal, MakeMyTrip has introduced a multi-currency payment option, enabling users to book flights and hotels in their preferred currency.
Speaking about the development, Rajesh Magow, Co-founder & Group CEO, MakeMyTrip, said, “Travel is becoming increasingly borderless, and this step makes it easier for global travellers to engage with us seamlessly. This feature simplifies payments in the currency of their choice for the Indian Diaspora spread across the globe, as well as our international customers, while also laying the foundation for greater adoption of the MakeMyTrip platform among inbound international travellers.”
The multi-currency feature is set to benefit international travellers by offering seamless access to the company’s extensive supply network, which spans accommodations in over 2,100 cities across India. Users can make payments in major global currencies, including the Bahraini Dinar, British Pound Sterling, Canadian Dollar, EU Euro, US Dollar, and more.
Beyond booking convenience, the feature ensures that travellers receive travel vouchers and refunds in the same currency used during payment. This eliminates exchange rate discrepancies and provides a hassle-free experience for international users.
