Madhya Pradesh museums to celebrate World Heritage Week 2024

This initiative aims to raise awareness about the region's heritage through various programmes targeting the youth and the general public

To highlight the cultural and historical significance of Madhya Pradesh, the State Museum in Bhopal is organising a series of events for World Heritage Week from November 19 to 24. This initiative aims to raise awareness about the region's heritage through various programmes targeting the youth and the general public.

The week will kick off with a lecture on "World Heritage," featuring insights from Archaeological experts Dr Rajendra Yadav, Umakant Pachori, and Dr C S Saxena who will share their experiences and knowledge on this topic. Other activities include a shadow-graph exhibition on ancient Indian monuments, cultural performances, and competitions such as a quiz for students and a painting contest focussed on heritage themes. A Heritage Tour will also encourage public engagement with local heritage sites.

These efforts are designed to deepen understanding and appreciation of Madhya Pradesh's rich cultural legacy, ensuring it is valued and preserved for future generations. Participants will receive prizes and certificates for their involvement.
