Javier Gimeno to lead as General Manager at Meliá Pattaya Hotel
His global career began as a bellman at Hilton Barcelona and includes key positions in Shanghai, Davao, Hong Kong, and Malaysia
Javier Gimeno has been appointed General Manager of the upcoming Meliá Pattaya Hotel, set to open in early 2025. Located in the heart of Pattaya, just a short drive from Bangkok, this 234-room coastal property promises to redefine urban resort experiences with its luxurious offerings and scenic sea views.
Gimeno brings over 30 years of industry expertise spanning Asia and Europe. Before joining Meliá Pattaya, he held senior management roles with Marriott International, including Cluster General Manager at the Marriott & Four Points by Sheraton Tianjin National Convention and Exhibition Centre in China. His global career began as a bellman at Hilton Barcelona and includes key positions in Shanghai, Davao, Hong Kong, and Malaysia.
“Javier’s extraordinary leadership skills and rich and diversified experience in opening and managing properties in Asia and key leisure destinations like Barcelona place him in excellent stead to take charge of Meliá Pattaya Hotel, following the successful launches of Meliá Koh Samui, Meliá Phuket Mai Khao, Meliá Chiang Mai and INNSiDE by Meliá Bangkok Sukhumvit in Thailand,” said Ignacio Martin, Managing Director Asia Pacific at Meliá Hotels International.
The hotel will feature a rooftop restaurant and sky bar, beach club, executive lounge, YHI Spa, Kidsdom kids club, swimming pool, ballroom, and versatile meeting spaces, epitomising Meliá’s signature Spanish hospitality.
