Indore Marriott Hotel Plans to Expand its F&B Space

“BEING THE tier-2 city in India, Indore is growing rapidly as any other tier-1 cities,” says Devesh Rawat, General Manager, Indore Marriott Hotel. Indore is known as the city of foodies, thus witnessing a huge growth in the hospitality industry month after month. Being in a city that has always been open to exploring new things be it food, fashion or trends, the hotel soon plans to expand its f&b space. “At Indore Marriott Hotel, we are planning a Night Club, Indian Restaurant, Spa, and a Roof-top Restaurant,” said Rawat in an interaction with BW Hotelier.

As part of the phase-1, the hotel opened Indore Baking Company & Indore Kitchen, which received a great response from the locals. The property also has a major focus on ‘Shaadi by Marriott’. “Our prime objective to introduce this concept is to create a wedding experience that is superlative in its offerings, be it great food, fabulous venue settings, and above all, highest service levels,” commented Rawat.

Indore, Madhya Pradesh’s largest city and commercial capital, has been selected as one of the 100 Indian cities to be developed as a smart city. The city thus is an emerging destination for IT Hub and other sectors. Seeing the potential in the market, Rawat feels, “ Indore is also considered to be an upcoming MICE destination with the establishment of the International airport linking us to different countries. It has increased the possibility of linking with other business destination and subsequently pacing up the occupancy,”

For Indore Marriott Hotel, 2017 ended on a good note with IOACON conference – 62nd Annual Conference of the Indian Orthopaedic Association, where the hotel hosted the delegates for their period of stay.  According to Rawat, this event helped in accelerating the revenue. “We have been seeing an increase in tourist numbers because of which occupancy rate is also growing. We hope to see 3-4 percent increase in occupancy rate for the hotel,” he adds.
