Clarks Exotica Convention Resort and Spa Focusing on MICE

SINCE ITS origination in the year 2007 by Ronald Colaco, Clarks Exotica Convention Resort and Spa has served efficaciously to the different sector of clientele. Considering Bengaluru as a hot destination for global conferences and MICE events, Clarks Exotica is now planning up for a convention centre with an attached hotel of 400 rooms in the coming two to three years. “This will be close to the Bengaluru International airport that can cater to such MICE events with an addition of three lakh sq ft banquet rooms,” said M Balaji - CEO, Clarks Exotica Convention Resort and Spa, Bengaluru in a conversation with BW Hotelier.

Speaking about the resort market of India, Balaji feels that the choice for corporate conferences and meetings has witnessed a shift from five-star hotels to resorts. “Resorts offer a different experience, and employees can engage in multiple recreational activities, enhancing team bonding. Several hotel groups are planning to open resorts across India, since such resorts cater to more audiences than a simple single property,” he added.

Currently engaging with an average of 75 percent of occupancy rates, Clarks Exotica host corporate events, luxurious destination weddings and have recently begun hosting MICE events. The ARR (Average Room Rate) of the resort lies between 5.5 to 6.

“I firmly believe that it is all about the quality of service and the experience we can give our customers. We have a wide range of service offerings - be it in terms of space, food, wellness or recreational activities. We would also be looking at further diversifying offerings in the near future,” Balaji concluded.
