Capella Kenting will embody these principles, and we are excited to collaborate with Riant Capital Limited and its subsidiary Win Full Co Ltd to bring an entirely new experience to our loyal and new guests."
"The partnership between Capella Group and Riant Capital Limited emerged from sharing a vision and recognising the future potential of Kenting, as underscored by its rich tourism resources and CNN’s recognition of Kenting as one of Asia’s top ten underrated tourist destinations. Introducing leading international hotel brands is crucial for showcasing Taiwan globally. We are thrilled to partner with Capella Group, renowned for crafting luxury travel experiences. This collaboration promises to significantly elevate Kenting and Taiwan’s global presence," added Aaron Chan, Chairman, Riant Capital.
Located on 99,000 sq m along the western coastline of Taiwan’s Hengchun Peninsula in Pingtung, The resort is designed by the Italian architects Antonio Citterio and Patricia Viel, founders of ACPV ARCHITECTS, inspired by Pingtung’s indigenous architecture and the rich natural environment of the peninsula in their design. With only 65 exclusive villas, the low-density resort will offer guests privacy and tranquillity. The property will have the largest hotel rooms in Taiwan, with spacious accommodations starting at 197 sq m along with a private swimming pool, hot spring facilities, and a 180-degree sea view, allowing guests to soak in the beauty of the coastline from their rooms.
Citterio, stated, “The design concept revolves around the special connection and relationship between the hotel and the ocean, guests will be able to fully immerse themselves in boundless sea views and irreplaceable natural experiences.”
“In our design, we have combined traditional craftsmanship with construction techniques to promote local characteristics,” she says. “For instance, the design of the resort incorporates signature elements of the local aboriginal culture, such as low walls stacked with stones. This approach not only strengthens the connection between design and culture but also minimises our visual impact on the natural landscape," added Viel.
The Capella Wellness programme is central to the resort's experience offering traditional southern Taiwanese wellness practices with Capella’s signature lunar phase-specific therapies, providing an immersive and restorative experience. The culinary journey at the resort offers guests gastronomic experiences honouring locally harvested ingredients presented through a farm-to-table concept.
