Forestry Innovation Consulting India Pvt Ltd (FII India), commonly known as Canadian Wood, hosted a seminar titled 'Building with Sustainable and Certified Canadian Wood' at CEPT University, Ahmedabad. The event was organised for the architectural community, including faculty members, industry professionals, and students, and aimed to promote the benefits and applications of sustainably sourced Canadian wood in construction and design.
The seminar featured expert presentations and interactive sessions, shedding light on the versatility and environmental advantages of Canadian wood species. The Canadian Wood team, led by Country Director Pranesh Chhibber, Assistant Director - Technical Services, Dr Jimmy Thomas, and Assistant Director - Business Development Gajanan Patankar, provided valuable insights into sustainable building practices. Additionally, industry expert ivekabhilash Sharma from Artius Interior Products shared his experiences and showcased projects demonstrating the practical applications of sustainable wood in India.
Chhibber opened the seminar by emphasising the importance of sustainable practices in the wood industry, highlighting Canadian Wood's commitment to promoting eco-friendly and versatile wood solutions. Dr Thomas then delved into the technical aspects and environmental benefits of using certified wood species, while Patankar presented case studies that demonstrated the adaptability of Canadian wood in various architectural contexts. Attendees also engaged in interactive sessions, explored the unique properties of different Canadian wood species, and networked with industry professionals.
