BRINGING THE history of Detroit, U.S.A to India, Ajit Singh and Arpan Gupta, two seasoned restaurateurs introduced Detroit Garage Bar & Kitchen to Delhi. Located at the f&b hub of the capital, Connaught Place, Ajit and Arpan aim to bring the same cultural influence and liveliness of Detroit's 'Old Time's sake' to India.
The city of Detroit reflected recognizable experiences of a motor city in the age of the automobile. As the capital of the world’s once-rising automobile industry, it originated a modern style of industrial set up. Detroit Garage Bar and Kitchen, a destination for the admirers of vibrant ambience aims to bring out the grungy world of car garage for bon vivant and food experts.
The interiors will not fail to remind the essence of motor lovers whether it be vintage or the young age road racers. The big yellow truck at the entrance which can convert to a DJ console at night is the eye catcher of all. To give a completely different look and feel of the place, the two partners have collaborated with Architect Saurabh Gupta who has designed Delhi Haat at Janak Puri.
Speaking of Detroit, Ajit Singh says, “Right from China for furniture’s to Mayapuri, to Gujarat, we went across every place to hunt for the interiors. We have taken dishes from the streets of Detroit and have infused them with Indian flavours. Connaught Place is the nightlife capital of the city and thus we cannot miss out to provide our presence here.”
The menu offers a fusion of European, American, Indian and South East Asian savouries. From All American Cheese Tacos to Pickle Paneer Tikka, Soya Sliders to Grilled fish Spaghetti, twice cooked Kung Pao to Old Mok mutton chops, their menu has an array of choices. Dynamite Prawn Crackers and Mutton Rangoon Buns are some of the top picked among others.
The place offers a large selection of beers and ales on tap with high-quality exclusive interiors that features vintage cars and tailored DJ console! Keeping the character in mind, all dishes can be suitably paired with drinks on the menu. Celebrity Chef Akshay Nayyar has helped the f&b team to conceptualise the menu as a consultant Chef.
“Challenging the odds, we wanted to create a place that is synonymous with the comfort levels of the audience that prefers spending Saturday-Nights at Connaught Place. Detroit welcomes an evolved audience with a unique sense of recreation complimenting the vibe of the place.” Says Arpan Gupta.
