Barcelos Introduces New Brand Rassasy By Barcelos

SOUTH AFRICAN restaurants chain Barcelos is aiming to introduce a new brand Rassasy By Barcelos along with expanding the operation of Barcelos in QSR format. The first outlet of Rassasy by Barcelos will be opening in JW Marriott, Sahar, Mumbai. The brand is planning to restrict Barcelos only to the food court and in continuation, to that, a few of the Barcelos will be converted to Rassasy by Barcelos.

Rassasy by Barcelos is a  premium restaurant concept. The concept is inspired by European and American retro time. The restaurant will serve classic European & American delicacies with bar. The targeted clientele will be between 25+ to 45 years of age segment. Most of the current outlets will be converted into Rassasy by Barcelos by the next quarter. First, two new outlets will open in Mumbai & Bangalore by May 2019.  

 "Currently most of Global and Indian F& B markets have two segments- Price-oriented & experience focused. We have designed models for both segments," says Rohit Malhotra–Business Head India Operations. 

Barcelos has witnessed exponential growth since its launch in India in 2015, starting its journey from Khan Market, New Delhi, Barcelos expanding its footprint since last year, satiating the nation’s palates through four operational restaurants across different cities in the country including Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad , Jaipur ,Lucknow and Chennai . In 2018, the brand opened four new outlets – one each in Chennai and Lucknow and two in Mumbai.

“We will be opening 3-4 new outlets of the new brand. We have allocated Rs 20-25 crore for opening, marketing and promoting the brand and targeting Tier 1 and metro cities for the new brand," Malhotra further added. 

All the outlets are franchise owned.
