Amitabh Rai Appointed as General Manager at The Ritz Carlton

THE RITZ-Carlton, Bangalore announced the appointment of Amitabh Rai as its new General Manager. Rai will be leading an engaged team of refined ladies and gentlemen in further strengthening the positioning of the brand’s first and only hotel in India. At the helm of this 277 key luxury hotel in Bangalore, his focus will be to ensure that guests depart with memories of a truly exceptional hotel experience, reflective of the brand’s iconic legacy worldwide. 

Rai joins The Ritz-Carlton, Bangalore from Gurgaon, where he was the General Manager of The Oberoi. With over 25 years of experience in business and hospitality, Amitabh is a seasoned professional, having worked in multiple hotel properties in India. He started his career in 1993 as an Assistant Manager Front Office and within a span of 10 years, became the General Manager at The Oberoi Grand due to his driving passion for hospitality and people.

In his illustrious career, Rai has excelled and thrived at mentoring and motivating team members to achieve greater professional and personal success with many of them today in leadership positions across the Industry.

Commenting on his new role, Rai said, “I am honoured to be given this wonderful opportunity as General Manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Bangalore. I am also fortunate to work with a very dynamic and motivated team that I’ve noticed from the first days of my appointment. My Key focus would be to ensure that the hotel continues to excel and deliver the legacy of hospitality and famed distinctive services that the brand is globally renowned for.”

Rai is a graduate from St Joseph’s College for Arts & Sciences, Bangalore University. He also holds a Diploma from Oberoi School of Hotel Management. Rai is passionate about travelling and discovering unfamiliar places and is an avid golfer. He is also a Director on the Board of Shivia India (Nirdhan), which is a UK based charity, that aims to empower underprivileged people and create livelihoods, boost income and inspire permanent change.
