Zostel reaches new milestone with presence in 40 destinations

Zostel reached a new milestone by reaching presence in 40 destinations. The brand has a total of 55 properties, including 37 hostels and 18 Zostel Homes, in 40 destinations across India.

Having recently launched properties in Munnar, Wayanad, and Coorg, Zostel’s growth trajectory has been remarkable, with some of its properties reaching pre-pandemic occupancy numbers. Zostel was launched primarily to provide safe, affordable, and distinctive experiences to India’s backpacker community. Its growth comes on the back of the high-quality yet pocket-friendly experiences it offers.

“We are incredibly proud to announce that Zostel is now the world's largest hostel chain in terms of the destinations covered. All of our properties have consistently received an extraordinary response. As the lockdown restrictions began to be eased, most of our properties, especially the ones in off-beat destinations, saw travellers flocking towards them looking for a getaway. We look forward to continuing our work in providing travellers the ultimate community-based experience. And since we are now a global force, we will focus on building on this momentum and launching more properties in the next quarter,” said COO of Zostel, Deep Banka.

Aiming to provide a unique, community-based experience to India’s backpackers and travellers, all of Zostel’s properties offer a myriad of both indoor and outdoor activities. While the outdoor activities vary according to the region, the properties offer indoor activities such as board games, common rooms to get together and relax, and more, along with a dedicated volunteer for each property to keep guests engaged. When it comes to outdoor activities, Zostel’s properties in Pokhara and Bir offer paragliding, EBC and ABC treks in Kathmandu, kayak rides in Alleppey, surfing lessons in Varkala, and more to provide travellers with the best of what the destination has to offer.

Prioritizing safety, all the Zostel properties ensure strict adherence to the protocols declared by each state government in the wake of the ongoing pandemic. There is a check for RT-PCR tests and vaccine certificates at the reception and thorough sanitization of the premises at every property. The brand has been taking additional precautions since the onset of the pandemic to ensure travellers have a safe stay.
