Speaking to BW Hotelier, Sunil Rane, Chairman, Blue Ocean Resort & Spa, said, ’It took us around 10 years to construct the property. In 2010, we opened the property with 35 villas and have now added 55 villas and suite in the first phase of development. The property offers guests the opportunity to experience different healing traditions at the Siam Spa. In the second phase, we will be adding 30 more villas, yoga on the hills while in the third phase we will open 30 villas and introduce adventure activities for guests.’
’The property is targeted towards wellness and leisure travelers. We are looking at upper-middle class and high-end travelers who are willing to spend upwards of Rs 8,000 for a room night. There is no branded resort in this area and we think this resort will create demand in the market. From November onwards the seaplane service with 9 and 18 passenger aircraft will start from Mumbai and Pune. We are also looking at charter services. As of now, we are tapping Mumbai and Pune markets, but going forward we will look at inbound tourists going to Goa as well,’ Rane said explaining the marketing strategy of the resort.
Ganapatipule is 300 km from Mumbai, 225 km from Pune and 250 km from Goa. It is connected from Mumbai, Goa and Kolhapur airports. Ratnagiri is the nearest railhead to the resort (50 km away).
