The Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has announced the opening of the Taj Cochin International Airport hotel, inaugurated by Kerala's Chief Minister, Pinarayi Vijayan. This new establishment reflects a blend of modern design and Kerala's cultural heritage, marking IHCL's commitment to the region.
Speaking on the occasion, Puneet Chhatwal, Managing Director and CEO, IHCL, said, “Having pioneered tourism in Kerala, IHCL is delighted to introduce Taj Cochin International Airport, strengthening our presence in the state. Developed in partnership with CIAL, this hotel expands our portfolio to 19 hotels in Kerala with three in pipeline, reflective of our commitment to enhancing Kerala's travel landscape.”
He added, "Cochin’s growing economic significance has firmly established it as one of the key cities in Southern India. This new opening in the city’s emerging micro-market grows our footprint while also offering easy access to the region’s popular leisure destinations.”
The hotel features 111 rooms, an all-day dining restaurant, J Wellness Circle, a fitness centre, and a swimming pool. It also offers over 5,000 sq ft of banquet space for events.
