Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat to grace BW Hotelier Indian Hospitality Summit & Awards 2024 as Chief Guest

Apart from his political contributions, his extensive experience across environmental and industrial development, positions him as a key figure in shaping India's tourism and cultural policies

Marking its 10th anniversary, BW Hotelier has accomplished its utopian aspirations and made its mark in the hospitality arena. BW Hotelier Indian Hospitality Summit & Awards (IHA), a ground-breaking event has let the grand and exquisite event speak for itself for the last eight years. We have only evolved, for the better since its inception in 2016. 

The theme of the IHA Summit 2024 is “Revolutionising Indian Hospitality” with the motto being “The sun never sets.” With its 8th edition in place in October 2024, the Summit promises to be no less than an inspiration for the masses and hospitality professionals. Brought together are the brilliant minds in Indian Hospitality, F&B, travel & tourism, for discussing and contesting the pressing issues of the industry. The discussions guarantee insightful takeaways from nearly 100 top thought stalwarts. 

Adding another string to the bow, we are thrilled to announce that Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat will grace the 8th edition of BWH IHA-2024 as the Chief Guest. Shekhawat, a seasoned political leader and an advocate for sustainable development, has been appointed as the Union Cabinet Minister of Culture and Minister of Tourism as of June 9, 2024. Born in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, Shekhawat holds a Master's degree in Philosophy from JNV University, Jodhpur. His political career spans over two decades, marked by significant contributions to rural and water resource development, environmental policy, and the agriculture sector.

Shekhawat was re-elected to the 18th Lok Sabha in June 2024 and previously served as the Union Cabinet Minister for Jal Shakti from May 2019. From September 2017 to May 2019, he was the Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, where he played a pivotal role in driving strategic initiatives for the welfare of the agricultural community. Apart from his political contributions, his extensive experience across sectors, combined with his deep understanding of environmental and industrial development, positions him as a key figure in shaping India's tourism and cultural policies. 

The curtain to the most awaited event of the year lifts on October 21, 2024, at The Leela Ambience Gurugram Hotel & Residences.
