Taj Taal Kutir adds colonial elegance to Kolkata’s hospitality scene

The Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), renowned as India’s largest hospitality company, proudly unveils the inauguration of Taj Taal Kutir in Kolkata. Nestled near the Kolkata International Airport, this new addition seamlessly combines colonial design with contemporary flair, enriching the smart city landscape of New Town.

Puneet Chhatwal, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of IHCL, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “Taj, a stalwart in Kolkata for over three decades, is expanding its footprint with Taj Taal Kutir in New Town. This addition is our response to the escalating demand in emerging micromarkets within the city. Kolkata, serving as the gateway to East India, holds immense commercial and tourism potential, and we are dedicated to expanding our presence in the region. We are pleased to renew our partnership with Mr. Harshavardhan Neotia and the Ambuja Neotia Group."

Perched beside the picturesque 100-acre lake in the Eco Park, Taj Taal Kutir comprises 75 opulent rooms and suites, adorned with colonial touches such as high ceilings, vintage-style furniture, and inviting sit-outs. The Verandah, an all-day diner, offers guests their favourites, while the Rhyddim bar, inspired by the classic jazz and Gatsby eras, beckons those seeking a sophisticated experience. For leisurely evenings, the Lakeview Lounge provides a serene retreat. The award-winning J Wellness Circle spa invites guests to embrace holistic practices rooted in India's rich healing traditions. 

The hotel's expansive banqueting and conferencing facilities, spanning 50,000 sq. ft., feature six venues ranging from 3,000 sq. ft. to over 12,000 sq. ft. These include indoor and outdoor spaces with open-to-the-sky terraces, making Taj Taal Kutir an ideal destination for grand social events and conferences.
