Jimmy Shaw, Managing Director of The Waterfront Shaw, Lavasa, has been elected as the new President of the Hotel and Restaurant Association of Western India (HRAWI) for the 2024-25 term. The announcement was made during HRAWI's 74th Annual General Meeting (AGM), held on September 21, 2024, in Mumbai, where new office bearers were also appointed.
A third-generation hotelier, Shaw brings a wealth of experience to his new role. He also serves as the Director of Bona Sera Hotels Ltd and Shaw Hotels & Consultancy Services Pvt Ltd, and is the Managing Director of ShawMan Software Pvt Ltd. His expertise extends into technology, where he serves as a Director at IDS NEXT Business Solutions Pvt Ltd. Prior to this, he held the position of Honorary Secretary of HRAWI, contributing significantly to industry advocacy.

In his new position, Shaw aims to continue leading HRAWI’s efforts on key issues within the hospitality sector, such as food safety, regulatory advocacy, talent development, and sustainability. His leadership will be important in engaging with the government during GST Council meetings and Union Budgets, as well as working closely with the Ministry of Tourism. A major focus under his tenure will be advocating for the Ease of Doing Business (EoDB) by streamlining the licensing process, addressing industry-wide concerns, and ensuring the association’s active role in policy-making.
