The Taj
Mahal Hotel, New Delhi, one of the most distinguished addresses in the Capital
is committed to environmental sustainability through efficient resource
management. The Hotel has received a Gold Level Certification from Earth Check, the leading benchmarking,
certification and environmental management program used by the travel and
tourism industry.
On
the occasion of World Environment Day 2016, the Hotel undertook various
initiatives to increase awareness about environmental sustainability and encourage
patrons, associates, guests and the larger community to achieve best practices
in environmental and social sustainability. The housekeeping staff, on Sunday
conducted the annual practice of planting saplings on the terrace garden.
Guests were invited to be a part of this initiative. A special horticulture
exhibition was on display in the housekeeping office.
The
Taj Mahal Hotel, New Delhi continues to celebrate the month of June as Tata Sustainability Month. Painting competitions will be organized
for children of Hotel associates and the hotel will also continue to provide
shared transport facilities for its employees in a bid to help reduce the
city’s pollution. The award winning contemporary Japanese restaurant, Wasabi by
Morimoto, will follow a ‘No Wastage Policy’ to encourage patrons to reduce food
wastage.
The
