Sheraton Grand Bangalore hosts authentic food festival

The festival offers a perfect journey featuring signature dishes like Alasanda Vada

The Sheraton Grand Bangalore Hotel at Brigade Gateway is bringing the vibrant flavours of Rayalaseema to the city with its exclusive Rayalaseema Food Festival. Curated by Chef Rajeshwari Puthalapattu, the festival is a celebration of the rich culinary heritage of Andhra Pradesh’s Chittoor district, showcasing the unique “Pattu” cuisine.

Chef Rajeshwari, acclaimed for her motto “Swach Swadeshi Swad,” has crafted a menu of heirloom recipes that reflect the heart of Rayalaseema. The festival offers a perfect journey featuring signature dishes like Alasanda Vada, crispy fritters made from black-eyed peas, and Nethala Pakkodi, spicy fish bites steeped in nostalgia.

Highlights include Karimpakku Annam, a comforting black pepper-infused rice, and Marvalu Yetamamsam Pulav, a lamb pulao bursting with traditional spices. Diners can also savour Ragi Munnagaku Roti, finger millet rotis paired with drumstick leaves, and Royala Roast, a bold prawn dish for seafood enthusiasts.

The festival concludes with Moosondalu, a jaggery and rice flour dessert that perfectly embodies the sweetness of tradition.
