Sheraton Bengaluru brings Thailand’s Loy Krathong Festival to life

Highlights include Peek-Gai Thord "Kluk Foon," a delightful dish of deep-fried chicken wings with pounded herb rice

Sheraton Grand Bengaluru Whitefield Hotel & Convention Center is set to transport Bengaluru to Thailand this November with a celebration of Loy Krathong, the ‘Festival of Lights’. From November 15 to 17, guests can immerse themselves in this traditional Thai festival that symbolises renewal and letting go, as candle-lit krathongs are floated in water.  

The festivities will be centred at InAzia, the hotel’s premier dining venue, where a special à la carte menu crafted by Thai Expat Chef Rungtiwa Sorlae will showcase Thailand's rich culinary heritage. The menu features an variety of authentic dishes that promise to tantalise taste buds. Highlights include Peek-Gai Thord "Kluk Foon," a delightful dish of deep-fried chicken wings with pounded herb rice; Goong Sarong, tiger prawns wrapped in crispy pastry served with chilli and jaew sauces; and Kai Phad Med Mamuang, stir-fried chicken with chilli paste and cashews. Seafood enthusiasts can have the Seafood Phad Phung Kari, a stir-fried seafood dish in kari sauce, while vegetarians can relish Tao-Hu Nung Se Eiw, steamed silken tofu in soya sauce.

The three-day celebration invites families and friends to experience not only the delectable flavours of Thailand but also the enchanting cultural spirit of Loy Krathong. Sheraton Grand Bengaluru promises an evening filled with authentic Thai cuisine and the warmth of a cherished tradition.
