Samir MC Appointed COO of Fortune Hotels

SAMIR MC, began his stint as Chief Operating Officer, Fortune Hotels Ltd, part of the ITC Group, this month. Samir spoke with BW Hotelier about his new job and the challenges and obectives he wanted to achieve.

"I play a supporting role to Suresh Kumar (the Managing Director of Fortune Hotels) and oversee the operations part of the group," he began by telling us.

The group, which is in Samir's words, a truely Indian hotel company, already has 46 hotels running with around 23 in the pipeline phase, according to him. The company is one of the strongest hospitality companies in the sector, he added.

"I will be seeing and improving on the operational set up of the hotels," Samir told us.

Before joining Fortune Hotels, Samir was working for the Intercontinental Hotel Group (IHG) since 1995. The last position he held in IHG was Director, Operations Support, South East Asia & Korea, based out of Bangkok, Thailand.
