The last session of the second day of the eighth edition of BW Hotelier Indian Hospitality Summit & Awards (IHA 2024) concluded with the BWH Heritage Roundtable including industry veterans and experts, Veer Vijay Singh, MD & CEO - Trance Hotels & Resorts and Maharaj Kumar Sahib Dr Lakshyaraj Singh Ji Mehwar of Udaipur who offered insights into the topic of preserving heritage: The role of historic properties in modern hospitality.
Talking about the legacy of his grandfather, Maharaj Kumar Sahib Dr Lakshyaraj Singh Ji Mehwar of Udaipur talked about the longest-standing partnership, commenting, “It is the longest standing association today in independent India where House of Tata and House of Mehwar has been together for over 50 years.” He further added how Tata has decided to make him the brand ambassador for the first time in 150 years.
“Hospitality comes to us in our DNA. It is something that is not taught to us but rather passed down to us through generations,” stated as he talked about his experience in his time at a hospitality institution.
Talking about the future, Maharaj Kumar Sahib Dr Lakshyaraj Singh Ji Mehwar of Udaipur added, “ One will be blessed to be able to continue in the footsteps of your family.” He further talked about how the idea is to follow this philosophy and keep the legacy alive.
