OUTRIGGER Hospitality Group recently celebrated “The OUTRIGGER Way Day” to honour 30 years of its values-driven philosophy known as Ke ‘Ano Wa‘a, inspired by the teachings of the late Dr George Kanahele. This philosophy emphasises care for hosts, guests, and local communities. The day also commemorated 77 years since the company was founded by Roy and Estelle Kelly in Waikīkī.

This year, the annual celebration was renamed from “Founder’s Day” to “OUTRIGGER Way Day” to reinforce the company’s commitment to its culture of caring, rooted in the aloha spirit.

Sean Dee, EVP and Chief Commercial Officer, OUTRIGGER Hospitality Group, commented, “The OUTRIGGER Way is much more than a business philosophy—it’s a lifestyle that honours the relationship between our hosts, our guests and the communities where we operate. This year, as we celebrate both our company’s 77th anniversary and 30 years of The OUTRIGGER Way, we are reminded of how deeply our hosts shape the guest experience. Their care, knowledge and passion reflect the heart and soul of OUTRIGGER and we are proud to honour them alongside the legacy of our founders, Roy and Estelle Kelly.”

OUTRIGGER properties hosted receptions to honour guests with complimentary services, local treats, and personalised amenities. Special back-of-house events highlighted the dedication of hosts, offering thank-you gifts and surprise perks to express gratitude for their contributions to the company’s hospitality. Throughout the week of September 29, OUTRIGGER properties participated in local conservation initiatives, emphasising community and environmental stewardship.
