THE WESTIN Mumbai Garden City is pleased to announce the appointment of Mukul Sharma as Executive Assistant Manager. Sharma has over fourteen years of experience in the hospitality industry and was previously Executive Assistant Manager, Food and Beverage at Taj Bangalore.
Having done his Masters Diploma in Hospitality Administration specializing in F&B (Kit) Management from Oberoi Centre for Learning and Development (OCLD) and Diploma in Hotel Management from Institute of Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition from PUSA, Sharma, in his new role will oversee operations of the hotel under the guidance of the General Manager.
Sharma’s interest in food and cuisines led him to start his career with a focus on kitchens. Soon after his academics, he was absorbed as Senior Kitchen Executive with the Oberoi Hotels and Resorts in Mumbai. His years at Oberoi honed his operational acumen and he was overseeing all operations in his department while leading and managing a large team. He moved to Europe and the Middle East heading leading resorts and hotels before moving back to his country of origin. He has also trained under Chef Alain Solivérès at Le Taillevent Paris (2 Michelin) 2009 and with Chef Roberto Maccioni at Luxury Yatch Nara in Sardignia in 2010.
Originally from Himachal Pradesh, Sharma was born and raised in Delhi. An avid sports fan, Sharma enjoys his game of lawn tennis, table tennis, cricket and is a big fan of Formula One racing. He loves experimenting with new cuisines, travelling and his passion for cars has led him to drive a variety of leading sports cars while on his travels abroad. He is married with two daughters and enjoys his free time with his family. Sharma, always willing to learn and explore new experiences looks forward to his time in Mumbai with The Westin Mumbai Garden City.
