MP Tourism Board hosts MP Tourism Masterclass

The workshop aimed to boost tourism in the state

To position the state of Madhya Pradesh as a preferred tourist destination and to foster collaboration between key industry stakeholders, Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board held MP Tourism Masterclass on July 4, 2024, at Madhya Pradesh Bhawan, New Delhi. The guest list for the event was a long one and included Maharaja of Rewa Pushparaj Singh, owner, HHR Group of Hotels.

Speaking on the occasion, Bidisha Mukherjee, Additional Managing Director, Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board, said, “We are thrilled with the outcome of the training programme in New Delhi. It reaffirms our belief in the importance of collaboration within the tourism industry. The partnerships forged during this event will undoubtedly enhance tourism prospects for Madhya Pradesh.”

Tourism in the state has witnessed a significant rise in comparison to the previous years with tourist footfalls multiplying three times and currently standing at 112.1 million. One of the primary drivers behind the rise in tourism is the profound spiritual bond the state shares with people of diverse faiths nationwide. These include destinations like Ujjain, Chitrakoot, Mahakaleshwar. Khajuraho and more.

To enhance hospitality and travel experience for tourists at destinations like Indore, Khajuraho, Bhopal, Panchmarhi, Gwalior and more, MPSTDC has taken up multiple projects across the state. “We don’t just create properties and resorts; we create tourism around famous areas which also inspires private hoteliers," said Aman Mishra, CGM, MPSTDC.

One of the major focus points of the event was MICE as corporate bookings, events and IPs have witnessed an increase in popularity lately. As Madhya Pradesh has hosted significant conferences including those during the G-20 Summit, the Board is now focussing on the evaluation of properties to host major conferences year-round. Significant efforts in connectivity, hospitality, cultural preservation and wildlife conservation are expected to yield positive outcomes in the near future.
