The Westin Mumbai Powai Lake & Lakeside Chalet, Mumbai – Marriott Executive Apartments has appointed Durba Datta as the new Director of Housekeeping. With over a decade of experience in the hospitality industry, Datta brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her new role, promising to uphold and enhance the high standards of cleanliness and service for which The Westin Mumbai Powai Lake is renowned.

Datta has had a distinguished career with Oberoi Hotels and Resorts, where she held various key positions, including Executive Housekeeper, Assistant Executive Housekeeper, and Deputy Manager-Housekeeping. Her extensive experience spans multiple prestigious properties such as The Oberoi Raj Vilas in Jaipur, The Oberoi Grand in Kolkata, and The Oberoi, in Mumbai. She has been recognised for her ability to lead large multifunctional teams, implement efficient operational processes, and deliver exceptional guest experiences. She successfully managed the housekeeping operations of The Oberoi Raj Vilas, a 71-acre property, including on premise laundry and landscape management, and led the housekeeping team at The Oberoi Grand, consistently exceeding guest expectations and maintaining high standards of service. Datta played a pivotal role in the pre-opening task force for The Oberoi New Delhi and The Oberoi Marrakech, contributing to the setup and successful launch of housekeeping operations. In her first year as an Executive Housekeeper, she was awarded the Best Housekeeping Team Award for July-September 2021 across Oberoi hotels and achieved platinum ratings in Bureau Veritas hygiene audits, demonstrating her commitment to excellence and attention to detail.

Datta holds a Bachelor of Arts in Hotel and Hospitality Operations from IIHM, Kolkata, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Housekeeping Management from the Oberoi Centre of Learning and Development. She has also completed the Management Development Programme at the same institution, further enhancing her leadership and strategic planning skills.
