Meluha, The Fern’s Chef Conduct Cooking Workshop for Underprivileged Women in Slums

A TEAM of chefs went all the way to Kalwa to demonstrate the cooking techniques to a group of women.  The Executive Sous Chef of Meluha Shrinivas N Adam taught enthusiastic women to make delicious and nutritious soups namely pumpkin soup, mixed vegetable soup, dal soup, spinach soup, carrot onion soup and tomato soup. The women were thrilled to learn easy tips to make these soups in large quantities.

Delicio Kitchen is an all-women food-service company that supports 160 working women in the slums. The kitchen, which was built with micro-credit funding and grants, not only provides the school children with daily nutritious meals but also empowers dozens of Kalwa women’s empowerment groups in the slums by helping them strengthen and expand their economic well-being.

The soups will be made on a daily basis by these women and will feed more than 100 underprivileged children who study in class 1 to 4 at the Learning Centers, run by the NGO.

The Area General Manager, Meluha, The Fern, Punish B Sharma said,  “We at Meluha keep doing such activities so that we can contribute to the society in whatever way we can.”
