Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority hosts three city roadshows

Accompanied by a delegation of over 22 partners from Mauritius, the MTPA aimed to highlight the destination's diverse appeal and its unique products

The Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA) recently organised a series of roadshows in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Kolkata, showcasing the island nation's offerings to approximately 100 tour operators and agencies across the three cities. Accompanied by a delegation of over 22 partners from Mauritius, the MTPA aimed to highlight the destination's diverse appeal and its unique products.

The roadshow series commenced on September 2, 2024, in Bengaluru, featuring a press conference where Arvind Bundhun, Director of MTPA, engaged with journalists from prominent media outlets. The interaction provided valuable insights into Mauritius as a travel destination, emphasising its appeal to various traveller segments, including leisure seekers, business travellers, honeymooners, adventure enthusiasts, and water sports lovers.

Reflecting on the success of the three-city event, Arvind Bundhun, the Director of the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA), shared: “These roadshows are part of our elaborate strategy for highlighting Mauritius’ diverse tourism offerings in major Indian cities. We have chosen these cities based on the travel potential and multiple segments of travellers present in each city. The collaborations fostered and insights derived will help us cater to the demands of Indian travellers more strongly.”

Following the Bengaluru event, the roadshows continued in Hyderabad and Kolkata, further broadening the reach of Mauritius's tourism offerings to key markets in India. The island’s accessibility from India, with generous direct flight options and a hassle-free visa-on-arrival facility for Indian passport holders, was a key highlight. Through these roadshows, MTPA reinforced Mauritius’s status as a premier travel destination for Indian travellers, showcasing its rich cultural heritage, stunning landscapes, and diverse experiences tailored to meet the needs of various traveller segments.

Sunil Mathapati, Country Manager – MTPA India, also conveyed his sentiments post event:"The response generated by the roadshows in all three cities has been remarkable, and pivotal to our purpose of promoting Mauritius in key markets. The goal of these events is to emphasise this very potential."
